Tasting Notes

Nose: Stewed dark and orchard fruit with earthiness and warm spice, followed by dried raisins, apple and a little dark chocolate.

Palate: Full and palate-coating, with a sweet-savoury, lightly leathery character. Apricot, honey, dried fruit, apple and dark chocolate sit over a gentle meaty note.

Finish: Long and complex, becoming gently sweeter, with chocolate raisins and a lingering menthol note.

Mortlach 16 Year Old Distiller’s Dram is a 43.4% ABV Speyside single malt and official distillery bottling, matured entirely in sherry casks, including first-fill and refill casks. It is a rich, full-bodied Mortlach that balances dark fruit and chocolate with spice, savoury weight and restrained leatheriness.

Interesting Facts

• The expression was introduced in 2018 as part of a Mortlach trio with 12- and 20-year-old releases.
