Tasting Notes

Nose: Heather honey, vanilla and stewed fruit, with butterscotch and roasted nuts.

Palate: Apricot, toffee and honeycomb, followed by caramelised brown sugar and walnut.

Finish: Long, with butterscotch, vanilla, roasted nuts and a light anise note.

Summary

This is an unpeated Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, matured first in American oak ex-bourbon barrels before a lengthy Marsala-cask finish. The fortified-wine casks give the whisky a smooth, rounded style with sweet fruit, honey, caramel and nutty malt character.

Interesting Facts

• Released in August 2023 as part of GlenAllachie's first trio of Regional Exclusive Wood Finish whiskies.
• This 11-year-old Marsala edition was bottled exclusively for the UK market.
• The Marsala finish lasted approximately 42 months; Marsala is a fortified wine from Sicily.
• It was bottled at 48% ABV with no added colour and without chill filtration.
