Tasting Notes

Nose: Honeyed and toasty cereal with hard candy sweetness, syrupy fruit and a light oak-spice note.

Palate: Rich dark toffee and chocolate-like ganache meet creamy grain, dried red fruit and warm oak spice.

Finish: Long and warming, with cinnamon, ripe red fruit, honeyed cereal and oak.

Summary

This is a limited single-cask Lowland single grain Scotch from Girvan, independently bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular Red Wine Cask Collection. A French Merlot-cask finish adds dark toffee, red-fruit and spice character while retaining the whisky’s honeyed cereal and creamy grain style.

Interesting Facts

• The whisky was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2024 from cask #19502.
• It is a 336-bottle single-cask release at 48.4% ABV in 70cl format.
