Why it is the safe choice for a present
Most whisky drinkers are not loyal to one country. They like a good dram and are happy to try something new. This calendar is made for them.
- Three whisky nations in one box. Four Scotch whiskies, six bourbons and two Irish whiskeys.
- A real spread of styles. Single malt, sherry cask, a lightly peated blend, wheated bourbon, high rye bourbon and blended Irish whiskey.
- Nothing to get wrong. Each dram is 3cl. If one is not to their taste, there is a different one behind the next door.
- A tasting video for every dram. Each bottle has a QR code that opens a video and written notes, so someone new to whisky learns as they go, and an old hand still finds something they have not tried.
The line up includes Eagle Rare 10 Year Old, a 16 Year Old Glen Elgin single malt, Bunnahabhain 14 Year Old and Teeling Small Batch. If you want to see every name before you buy, the full list is in our guide to what is inside our 2026 calendars. That page carries a spoiler warning.
Who it suits
- The person who says "I like whisky" and leaves it at that.
- Someone newer to whisky who is still finding out what they like.
- A Scotch drinker who is curious about bourbon, or a bourbon drinker who is curious about Scotch.
- A colleague, a client or a relative whose drinks cabinet you have never seen.
If you do know that they keep to one kind, choose that instead: the 12 Day Scotch Whisky Advent Calendar for a Scotch drinker, or the 12 Day American Whiskey Advent Calendar for a bourbon drinker.
A present for the twelve days of Christmas
A 12 day calendar does not have to be opened before Christmas. Give it on Christmas Day and it is opened one dram a day through the twelve days of Christmas, right into the new year. It works out at £5.00 a dram.
If you are sending it as a present, enter the name and address of the person you are buying for at checkout, and use your own email address.
Want something bigger?
The 25 Day Whiskey Advent Calendar is the same idea on a larger scale: 25 drams from nine countries, with a special whisky in a glass bauble for Christmas Day. Our guide to choosing between 12 days and 25 days sets out the difference. You can also see all five in our whisky advent calendar collection.
Questions people ask
Which whisky advent calendar should I buy if I do not know what they drink?
The 12 Day Whiskey Advent Calendar. It mixes Scotch, bourbon and Irish whiskey, so there is something in it for every whisky drinker.
Is it Scotch or bourbon?
Both, and Irish too. There are four Scotch whiskies, six bourbons and two Irish whiskeys.
Is it suitable for someone new to whisky?
Yes. Every dram has a tasting video and written notes that explain what it is and what to look for.
Is there anything smoky in it?
There is a lightly peated Scotch, which gives a gentle taste of smoke. Most of the drams are not smoky.
Why is it spelled whiskey on this calendar?
American and Irish distillers write whiskey with an e. Scotch distillers write whisky without one. This calendar holds all three, so you will see both spellings.
How big is each dram?
Each one is 3cl, which is 30ml. That is enough to taste it neat and again with a drop of water.
Can I send it to someone in another country?
Yes. We deliver in the UK, to the USA and to much of Europe. The details are in our delivery guide.
